What's New?

Ever since I read the poem, "Looking for Niagara" by Bob Baxter, I have been interested in painting the event that happened in 1827 when some entrepreneurs arranged to send live animals over the falls for a tourist attraction.  This subject relates to my environmental theme as it shows that attitude really ingrained in our minds that nature exists to serve us.

Above is a detail of a study for a larger piece I intend to do after more work.

I have finished (I hope!) this pastel of a long-eared owl.  I flushed this bird while looking for owls at a nearby park.  Lucky for me, it landed in sight and I was able to get video for several seconds before it took off again.

Another in my warbler series- the Nashville warbler.
